Villefranche-Sur-Mer

>> Friday, October 15, 2010

This Italianesque village built on a cliff dangling over the sea will forever be seared in my mind.

When planning our visit to the Riviera, I was immediately drawn to Villefranche-Sur-Mer. As you may have surmised, I am a huge Italiaphile (is that a word?).

On the day we were leaving for Paris, we decided to have lunch in Villefranche-Sur-Mer.

We chose the Trastevere restaurant, situated right on the water.

the palest and best rosé I've ever had
It was only natural, considering we stayed in the Trastevere neighbourhood the last time we were in Rome.

Yes, it was an Italian restaurant.

This salad was amazing....

... and so was the pizza.
