Marble Slab Creamery
>> Friday, July 16, 2010
It was just before eleven o'clock on a hot summer night, and as expected, there was a long queue in front of the English Bay Marble Slab Creamery. That gave us plenty of time to decide what mixins we were in the mood for. Twenty minutes later, it was our turn to order.
We both went with the Big Dipper size, which gets you one free mixin.
In a cup, we got half cheesecake and half orange dream. Kind of a cheesecake creamsicle. Very enjoyable.
In a waffle cone, we got coffee ice cream with crushed Skor bars mixed in. I attempted to recreate Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, which abruptly disappeared off Vancouver's freezers one day, and left me in quite a tizzy. While the ice cream was nowhere near as strong in flavour, and the candy pieces certainly nowhere close in size, lovely it still was.
