sweet e's pastries and sweets

>> Wednesday, May 4, 2011

One of the benefits of living right in the city is that you have a variety of shops and services, including bakeries (very important), within walking distance. In Kerrisdale, we have access to quite a few excellent bakeries, among them sweet e's pastries and sweets.

As we have observed, bakers, and I guess chefs in general, pay a lot of attention to the visual artistry of their creations. The sisters who own sweet e's are no exception; in fact, they elevate their decoration to, if not the stratosphere, at least to the high troposphere.

Take this cupcake for example, all dressed up I see.

I've seen cakes better decorated - no, no, I lie.

Cookies, cakes, muffins; lots to choose from.

The round brownie we brought home was not only rich and chocolatey, but it was a lot of fun to eat as well.

The mini cheesecake captures pretty much everything you want from a cheesecake, only in a bite-size serving. Okay, for normal people, it's actually more like three bites.

Sweet-e's is a great place to pick up a sweet gift for a family member, a friend, a coworker, or just to treat yourself.

These chocolate carmels are scrumptious just like everything else we've tried at sweet e's.

The only bad thing to say about sweet-e's pastries and sweets is that they are closed on Monday, Tuesday, and some holidays, making it that much harder to indulge a craving.
