Nick Sushi

>> Wednesday, May 12, 2010

There are lot of sushi joints in Vancouver, but this may very well be the cutest. Not only is it tiny, with five tables and some window seating, but the decorations are precious.

We were across the street shopping in Midland Appliance, when we spied Nick Sushi across the street. Normally, when we're out alone together, we'll veer from sushi, as it is our daughters' favourite.

We started off with gyoza. These sure looked and tasted freshly made.

The menu has a few special rolls that looked intriguing, so we ordered two of them. First up, the moshi moshi roll:

Yummy, yes, but the real star was the yellow roll:
The sweetness of the tamago and the ama-ebi, together with the chopped scallop and real crab, blended to create a departure from the conventional. The flavours brought out the best in each other.

Rounding out our meal were two unagi pieces. Don't they look scrumptious?
